I started today off by asking followers on facebook what brightened their days hoping for a variety of answers but as the rainy day wore on the answers seemed to be different of the same. We all love our families and couldn't imagine life without them. The thought of anything happening to them petrifies us because it's that smile on your partners face and the laughter of your little ones that make the world go round. If only we never had to say goodbye to another friend for a long time we could all be happy forever.
More answers included patriotism from my cousin who just had a baby fresh back from Afghanistan, and electricity from a humorous point of view. Of course there's never a wrong answer, it's all in the eyes off the beholder but the fact that family came up so often got me thinking especially with yesterday's blog about relaxing.
We spend so much time thinking about how to make others happy that we forget that others enjoy seeing us happy as well and if we're getting ourselves all worked up and bent out of shape because you've taken on too much this week those closest to you probably aren't very happy either. Suppose the huge birthday party you planned for your 6 year old isn't going exactly according to plan. Instead of running around like a chicken with your head cut off remember this day only comes once so don't sweat everything (TIP: my mom always keep big things we did as a family a secret until the very last second in case anything went wrong so worst case scenario a "surprise" was a candy bar at the store. Kids won't miss what they didn't know they had especially if they think they DID get the big surprise) All that matters at the end of the day is that everyone is smiling.
So the next time your having a bad day and you find that person who's enjoying theirs and has a smile on their face that now your a part of their good day. enjoy what it good and look at the brighter side, today it might be raining but there's always tomorrow and they still have have that beautiful smile and you can try to keep it there just by being you.
