An easy way to get in the holiday spirit and spend some family time together. Add friends too. The more the merrier... Get it "Merrier"
Things have been kind of hectic lately. A lot is to be done around the holidays and with such a big family we tend to get on each others nerves pretty easily so it's important for us to find ways to bring ourselves back from the worst of days and remember we are all here for each other.
Both my mom and I had been listening and singing to Christmas carols throughout the day inspired by my brothers chorus performance at the tree lighting on the common the night before. I began searching for a particular album that I had always listened to on the long car rides home from my grandparents around this time of year. I was lucky to find it on Spotify. What started out as a simple "hey mom, who is this?", it turned into a full fledged game of music Trivia, and Christmas music trivia at that which just made it a little more fun singing along to all our old favorites.
Quickly we moved to a more updated version with many of the same songs sung by various new artists since my younger siblings wanted in on the fun. We probably spent at least a good hour shuffling through the many albums and songs available on Spotify guessing back and forth.
We never even kept track of who was winning. We were having too much fun shouting out answers and laughing at each other bad guesses. Family time is worth more than winning in our family that is for sure.
Our Top Two Albums from Spotify
The Very Best Family Christmas Original Artists- Adults
Christmas Hits- Tweens
By the way I just learned about Spotify while looking for this CD and I haven't completely figured it out but it was so easy to download and save my albums plus it had great reviews and gave me no security warning. A couple ads but that's no biggie compared to their selection. That's a plus in my book.
Soon I will be doing a post about our family game nights and Friday Family Nights so check back soon.
